The
programmes are challenging and comprehensive. They are
also flexible and integrate co-cirricular activities.
The PGDBM programme is divided into 6 trimisters stretching
over a two year period.
The
programme begins with a refreshing of fundamental management
concepts. In the second and third trimesters, the students
are oriented to areas of specialisations such as Marketing,
HR, IT and Finance, alongwith introduc

A
two months Corporate internship enables students
to get real-life experience in blue chip companies
on projects that can challenge even an accomplished
practising manager. For instance, 'Attitudinal
Analysis of Medical Practitioners towards usage
of computers' was a challenge. Ms. Anuradha Shinge
of IBA tackled it for Siemens Information Systems
Ltd. This gave her 'the experience of coming to
grips with the growing market of information sustems
in the health care - a sunrise service sector
in Inida'. Mr. Javed Ahmed was excited when he
took upon 'Recruitment of software Professionals
in BPL Telecom', a project that gave him in-depth
insights into the intricacies of HR processes
in the IT industry. In fact some of the first
batch students' involment in the projects have
been given an additional project in the companies
where they had their first internship. Some of
them have even been offered lucrative Placement.
|
The
actual learning
occurs through fruitful exchange of ideas, exposure
to diverse peceptions, particularly during case
analysis and presentations. These nourish the
basic concepts that reinforce the process of
creating successful managers.
|
The
last three trimesters are devoted to building
entrepreneurial abilities in the students because
a successful manager is perceived as a wealth
creator for the organisation. The chosen specialisation
subjects are learnt exhausively in these two trimesters.
An
overseas corporate tour is an integral part of
the learning module during this period. Students
are taken on a leaning and enriching tour abroad
wherein they will be privileged to observe, study
and interact with practitioners in diverse corporate
settings.
The
last lap at IBA is devoted to placement excercise.
Preparing the students for this begins much earlier
through a process of communication, campus mock
sessions, GDs, etc.
|
|

At
IBA, students are treated as colleagues who
work in teams as 'task Forces'. Tis gives them
a first hand experience ot organise guest lectures,
seminars, even identify and screen faculty,
coordinate directly with visiting faculty maintaining
IBA website, etc.

Living
through this programme is intense and gruelling.
But for those who are serious & deeply committed,
the returns in terms of knowledge, confidence
and career prospects are highly rewarding.
